DOING OUR PART TO REDUCE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS

At Bear Creek Winery we feel that it is our social responsibility to do what we can to minimize our environmental footprint.  As an environmentally sensitive operation we utilize numerous green practices.

IN OUR SUITES: All of our showers have water saver heads and our toilets are low flush. Bathrooms contain eco-friendly toiletries and we utilize biodegradable cleaning products and trash bags.  Join your fellow guests reducing the impact on the environment by reusing linens and switching off lights when you leave or not in use.

SPA: We have a 1000 gallon 7’ Red Cedar hot tub and a full steam bath house for our guest’s enjoyment. To reduce the chemicals needed we use a mineral based ionizer .  It provides a softer, gentler water and more comfortable swimming environment.  Check out our Spa guy for more info.

We use appliances that reduce energy consumption and have been converting to energy efficient lighting. We already have implemented a recycling program to reuse and recycle paper products in the office and sterilize and reuse wine bottles in the winery.

In the WINERY we recycle the bottles: The process starts by removing the foil hood and soaking the labels off.  Just a few minutes with warm water …..

Then remove the labels.

Next we give them a good scrubbin & rinsing & soaking to disinfect them,  

Then we air dry them on a special rack. 

In the gift shop we sell reusable wine bags and will give our customers $1.00 off per bottle of wine when bringing in any reusable wine bag (not just ours) at the time of purchase.
